About

In August 2007 Kim and Angela met at a networking event at Kirin’s restaurant for HNN (Houston Networking News). At that time, Angela worked as a consultant for a company called The Star 100 Restaurants. Kim sold cash advances to restaurants for Advance Me Inc.

Their passion for the restaurant industry fueled their first conversation. Angela’s knowledge of the restaurant industry combined with Kim’s networking skills sparked a shared vision. They immediately saw a networking opportunity for the hospitality industry.

It is fitting that Hospitality Industry Pros, known as HIP, was born during a lunch meeting. While enjoying great Mexican food in Houston restaurant, Kim and Angela brainstormed about the name, the concept, and the importance of networking. They even discovered their catch phrase: “It’s Cool To Be HIP!” This became their website: www.itscooltobehip.com

Within one year of their lunch meeting, HIP attracted more than twenty-five members. HIP meets every other week for lunch, and each time the networking web expands further. Come check us out and experience the benefits of being HIP. Contact Angela for meeting locations.
